Puppy Page

On December 6/7 2010 our beautiful girl Georgie gave birth to a litter of 10 puppies, 7 boys and 3 girls. All were pronounced fit and healthy, Georgie included. This is our first ever litter of puppies so exciting times have been thrust upon us after a sad November.

It was a long birth full of drama, well we felt it was anyway :) She had her first puppy approx 3.00pm Monday afternoon followed by her second quite quickly after. However number 3 decided it would rather not meet us, so a trip to our vets ensued. Georgie promptly gave birth to number 3 on the floor at the vets! An x ray determined there were another 4 pups.

We came back home and numbers 4, 5 & 6 came along very quickly, however number 7 didn't so the vet came out to us at 11.30pm and by 1.30am she'd decided a C Section was the only answer, she went back to the surgery to get it ready and also to call a nurse out to aid her. We were getting Georgie ready to take up when number 7 made its arrival! Our vet then made a trip back to us checked them all over and we thought that was that. I think all of us were exhausted by this time, however Georgie and pups were not finished.....

By 8am Tuesday morning numbers 8 & 9 had arrived although accusations of counting wrongly through lack of sleep were rallied round, LOL Surely we thought that would be it, how wrong we were at midday number 10 made an unexpected entrance! By this time i made a telephone call to our vets asking if they could stop her now, we had enough pups thank you, that was after a plea to Georgie to stop teasing us, LOL

All pups are thriving and are beautifully marked and coloured. To date (1st Jan 2011) they are nearly one month old and are wobbling around eyes and ears open, and also with baby teeth coming.
